Emily Sharp
- Position
- Senior Education Outreach Officer
As a Senior Education Outreach Officer, I co-manage our Research and Study Skills outreach which involves developing the content of both the EPQ (Extended Project Qualification) taught skills programme, and the exam study skills programme. As part of this I develop and maintain school and college relationships nationally to deliver our workshops and advise on support we can offer to students.
Additionally, I lead on the development of Leeds to Success, a sustained outreach initiative working with students through years 7 to 11 to support students from widening participation backgrounds to transition to higher education.
I joined the University of Leeds in October 2016 in order to study my Masters by Research in History degree which focused on how the Second World War in Singapore has been differently memorialised in Australia, Great Britain, and Singapore; the three main countries involved in this historic event. I successfully completed my MA thesis in July 2018. In my spare time, I keep connected to my research interests by volunteering as a member of the Researching Far East Prisoners of War History Group.
Please do reach out to me if you would like any further information on our Research and Study Skills programme, or Leeds to Success. I would love to hear from you.
